Our Approach

We’re a benefactor not a supervisor. We invest in Passion, Poise and Expertise.

Our support is uncomplicated. It’s an investment built on trust, transparency, and good communication.

The work is difficult, and our grantees show determination and grace in the face of it. We seek to understand their goals and any obstacles that stand in their way. Our support can help them weather difficult financial realities and be the catalyst that allows them to grow, take risks, and dream bigger. Their vision extends far beyond the local. We want to see them take a leap.

Our philosophy

A different way of giving.

We find the sources of light in our world and increase their capacity to shine. By investing in people with a passion for altruism and activism who are devoted to improving the lives of all women, we shape our way of giving.

Trust-based giving

A modern approach to philanthropy—unrestricted multi-year investments. Grantees don’t have to bend to meet our limitations or requirements. We engage with them to understand their current needs and future goals.

Long-term commitments

We’re building relationships. We invest in grantees because we’re equally passionate about their cause. The work is difficult, the challenges are varied, and we’ll be a partner for as long as it takes.

Relationships, not reports

We’re not interested in being a manager. Our grantees have clearly demonstrated their passion, their commitment, and their expertise. We see their impact; we don’t require a status report.

Small team, fast decisions

Being small has its benefits. We’re nimble and we’re scrappy. We don’t get mired in process. Our singular focus is in getting the right resources into the hands of deserving  grantees when they need it.

Freedom to lead

Financial security builds confidence. Grantees find themselves with newfound freedom to take strategic risks—and develop as managers, visionaries, and stronger leaders for their organizations.

Connected communities

We are stronger together. We aim to connect grantees, partners, communities, and organizations and create peer networks that find adjacencies, share ideas, and learn from each other.
Dimensions of Well-being

A holistic approach to giving designed for women to thrive.

We believe in the universal elements of well-being—concepts that explain the difference between a life spent evolving and thriving from one spent suffering. What is a better life—and who can pursue it? These concepts describe a life filled with opportunities for growth and personal success—as well as safety and security. They enable us to articulate what a woman’s right to self-determination looks like.

Health

Anything a body needs to maintain strength, energy, and vitality. This includes access to fresh food, clean water, shelter, and accessible medical care.

Education

The opportunity, as well as the time required to gain knowledge, develop new skills, and pursue enriching, lifelong learning experiences.

Economic Freedom

The ability to manage your money and gain financial independence. Understanding how to afford the life you desire and plan for the future.

Personal Safety

A feeling of security that comes with supportive friends and family—a strong community. Respect, equality, and freedom from threats.

Legal Rights

Citizens of a fair and just society require equal protection under the law, and unfettered access to the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
